If you’re updating your wordpress blog and something interrupts it during the process then you could find that it gets stuck in maintenance mode. Once it’s in maintenance mode you won’t be able to access the admin section to fix it so you’re going to need to get a little more tech and poke around in your server.
Open the File Manager
I use cPanel but you can do this via Ftp or whatever you like to use.
Open up the file manager on your server and navigate to the root directory of your wordpress install. Usually it’ll be something like public_html/thebloject.com/
Delete the Maintenance File
Look for the .maintenance file in the root of the wordpress install and delete it.
Refresh Your Blog
Go back to your blog page and hit refresh. The site should load normally.
